Enhancing Hospital – Community Dialogue: The 2008-2011 Community Engagement Strategy, Toronto East General Hospital (TEGH), 2007.

This is a comprehensive CE strategy for a large urban hospital. TEGH identifies five stakeholder groups as priorities for CE: internal commitment, neighbours, the broader community, newcomer groups, and partners. For each priority group, specific and practical actions are delineated. In addition, overall performance targets are established. Suitable for many levels of CE skill, this short document offers a clear example of how CE can be integrated across an organization, and highlights the importance of basic communication activities and the support of health sector leaders. Minimal information on performance measurement is included in the strategy.
